Heavenly King (HL 160212)
The text is taken from a Byzantine hymn, but all the music is created by the skillful composer,Anthony Doherty. Chanting some of the many names of God, the opening fanfare begins quietly in D minor and gradually builds to a glorious A major chord. The anthem is both a song of praise and a prayer for salvation that returns effectively to the opening style but in reverse, ending softly and reverently. Medium.
