This unique composition is an Easter vigil masterpiece. The listener is taken to the garden along with Mary as she begins her search for the crucified Christ. The light of resurrection will soon replace the sadness of the three days of darkness and yet this final moment of reflection is an important prelude to the alleluias of Easter. Unaccompanied voices add to the drama.
